eduPIC: an introductory particle based code for radio-frequency plasma simulation

چکیده
For the self-consistent description of various plasma sources operated in low-pressure (nonlocal, kinetic) regime, Particle-In-Cell simulation approach, combined with Monte Carlo treatment collision processes (PIC/MCC), has become an important tool during past decades. PIC/MCC codes have been developed and maintained by many research groups, some these are available to community as freeware resources. While this computational approach already present for a number decades, rapid evolution computing infrastructure makes it increasingly more popular accessible, simulations simple systems can be executed now on personal computers or laptops. During few years we experienced increasing interest lectures courses dealing basics particle simulations, including technique. In response this, paper (i) provides tutorial physical basis algorithms technique (ii) presents basic (spatially one-dimensional) electrostatic code Capacitively Coupled Plasmas, whose source is made freely programming languages. We share C/C++ versions, well version written Rust, which rapidly emerging language. Our intends "starting tool" those who interested learning details would like develop "skeleton" further, their purposes.

The FLUKA Code: An Accurate Simulation Tool for Particle Therapy
Monte Carlo (MC) codes are increasingly spreading in the hadrontherapy community due to their detailed description of radiation transport and interaction with matter. The suitability of a MC code for application to hadrontherapy demands accurate and reliable physical models capable of handling all components of the expected radiation field. This becomes extremely important for correctly perform...
متن کاملAn MPI-based parallel code for high performance 3-D particle-in-cell ion source plasma simulation
The paper presents parallel version of TRQR code, intended for ion source plasma simulation. The code is written using particle decomposition approach, and enables plasma potential, charge density, ion extraction current, etc. calculations. Parallelisation was done using widely accepted MPI platform. Additionally, the code has been rewritten and optimised in order to achieve better efficiency. ...
متن کاملPlasma physics: an introductory survey
A plasma is an ionised gas in which the nearest neighbour interactions between the electrically-charged constituents (negatively-charged electrons and positivelycharged ions, which are in equal numbers so as to maintain overall electrical neutrality) is dominated by the long-range interactions of many ‘distant’ particles. In fact, many plasmas contain a significant number of unionised neutral a...
متن کاملIntroductory Physics Based Visual Simulation
This paper provides a succinct review of physics based visual simulations methods. It is aimed at newcomers in visual simulation in an advanced IT simulation course, including flexible learning mode. It is also intended as an inspiration for research into physically truthful visual simulation. The emphasis is on how to approach presenting visualizations of the processes modeled, which are physi...
